Skier Review 3/13

I chose Black Mountain because of its lift prices, but bought a season pass because of the wonderful skiing. I grew up in Switzerland with a chalet near the ski resort of Gstaad, and found the runs at Black Mountain to be very similar to those I skied on for years as a kid. There\'s even a bit of pleasant nostalgia in riding the leisurely chairlifts! An added bonus at Black is the fabulously friendly staff; I was genuinely impressed. Thanks for keeping up this lovely tradition

Skier visit 2/14-2/19

Dear Staff:
Bob and I came back to Black Mountain (first trip out was March 2009) and I had the opportunity to ski from 2/14 through 2/19/2010. We just want to thank everyone for making our trip so wonderful.
We're very glad to see you have gotten some snow and wish we could sample it for ourselves.
We just want to thank the staff for all their kindnesses. Particular thanks go to our friends Joey, Ben and Corrine.

Joey, I need another Celtic -- will be back soon...Bob needs a Magarita; thank you for all of your help and for listening to Bob.

Ben, you are extremely patient and kind with all of the children and novice skiiers. You are a very nice man and doing an awesome job! You really put the little kids at ease (big kids too).

Corrine, thank you for helping Bob and giving him a lesson. I think he will continue to try (just for my sake) and I think he actually enjoyed his ski lesson.

To all the other lift guys, thank you for assisting me onto the lifts numerous times and for your good humor. Ricky, I loved the snow family - particularly the one holding the Mountain Dew.

Thank you again. Wish we were there. See you soon! Want to come back!
Love,
Bob and Wendy Borja

Family visit February 8, 2010….We came to Black Mountain yesterday (Monday,
February 8th) and spent the day skiing with our 6 and 7 year old girls. Our entire family was so impressed with the people you have working at the mountain. Everyone we came in contact with was so friendly and helpful. The gentlemen at the ticket desk and in the cafeteria were very nice. Both gentlemen working the lifts were great. Our girls described the gentleman at the "pommel beginner lift" as "very kind". The gentleman at the double lift was "funny and very kid friendly!". There is no doubt he enjoys his job. Please let your employees know they are doing a great job and it did not go unnoticed! We had a really fun day! Well done. The Low Family

...In reference to our 75th Birthday Party on January30, 2010
I want to thank you for a wonderful party. The food was delicious and The Swingtones made the celebration perfect. We were with my sons, and danced the night away. Thank you for giving all of us such a treat in a world that never knows how great this music really is. Enjoy your next 75 years

…In reference to the Jackson Snow Sculpting Invitational, January 29-31, 2010
Dear Black Mountain!
Thank you for your generosity! My carving partner Donna Dodson and I had a FINE time snow sculpting this past weekend. The lovely setting, the effort to get us into snow, the exceptional BKMT staff and the kind community folks, all made this event into a world class opportunity. The results we saw from the various teams was a testament to the investment and respect the artists had for the work the community put in to make this happen. I was thrilled to be a part.'

Thank you for your generosity and hospitality during the recent state sanctioned snow sculpting even t. It was my first visit to Jackson, NH and my first time sculpting snow, and the support and appreciation the entire time made it a memorable event. Best Wishes. Donna Dodson and Andy Moerlein.

Skier Visit January 11, 2010...'I want to tell you what a great experience my family and I had at Black last week… My brothers and I have been skiing in that area since we were kids and we now have a house that we all share in North Conway. My oldest son is now 4 and I have been introducing him to skiing this year. We spent 3 days on “magic carpets” (at other mountains) and when I thought he was ready for some chairlift action I looked at the different options in the area and decided on Black. We have never skied at Black, but my the decision was mostly based on the fact that it is so much more affordable to ski there and I didn’t want to shell out $70 for what may turn out to be 3 trips on the bunny slope and some hot chocolate in the lodge. Well, we absolutely loved it! We took countless trips up the Platter Pull and even went up the lift a few times. My wife, older brother, and sister-in-law skied as well so I was also able to take a few runs without my son and just enjoy the mountain. What a great place! We all spent our entire apres session at Lostbo talking about how awesome the mountain was and how great it is that you keep the lift prices so reasonable. Consider us all converts, and expect our business in the coming weeks, months, and years! In fact, we will all be up there this weekend and are planning on coming to Black on Saturday for the party! First Time Skier Visit January 3, 2010...Great Mountain! Terrain has real character, classic fall line, real New England trails. Had more fun in four hours than a full day at 'Someday Bigger'. Dan Gendreau
