Hello Black Mountain Family,
Obviously, spring is upon us, and there is no better place to enjoy it than Black Mountain. Every Saturday our Alpine Cabin bursts into life as the heart of rowdy spring celebration, where people gather to enjoy a live DJ, endless champagne, and unique energy that only Black Mountain can bring. This weekly event is quickly becoming one of the best Après experiences on the continent. Don’t miss it.
At the same time, we’re not forgetting our winter roots. Our small but dedicated snowmaking team is harnessing our recently upgraded system to hammer the mountain at every opportunity and extend our season for as long as possible. We have already set a record for the amount of snow that has been made at Black Mountain, and all of our snowmaking equipment remains on the hill and ready to fire again as soon as temperatures allow again.
Our commitment to independent skiing defines us and it guides every decision that we make here. In this recent video by More Perfect Union, Black Mountain is highlighted as a comeback and positive space for an industry that is focused on profits over purpose. I also recently sat down with Stuart Winchester of the Storm Skiing Journal to discuss why, and how, we ended up taking on this remarkable project at Black Mountain.
In addition to a special Spring Friday Night Lights, and the Saturday party at the Alpine Cabin from 1–5 pm paired with the Sunset Ski (enjoy late lift rides available until 4:15 pm as we groom a fresh trail for you to ski or ride under a stunning sunset starting at 5 pm. Lift access for the Sunset Ski event is included with all pass types, whether you have a day pass or an uphill pass, and late-ride tickets are just $10 for everyone else starting a 3:15 pm.) On Sunday, we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a festive party featuring a traditional Irish dinner, live music, enticing drink specials, and maybe even a chance to spot a leprechaun. Please note that due to the weather, we will be closed on Monday, March 17th, so make sure to enjoy every moment of this action-packed weekend before it ends.
Finally, we are working through the last details surrounding 25/26 Season Passes and programs of all types. I think folks will be very happy with what we come out with. I am fully committed to launching those products and providing a full update on our transition to community ownership by the end of the Month.
We are keeping our foot on the gas, and the tank is full.
Let's do this. Thanks for being here.
